Two men accused of attacking one of the murderers of Stephen Lawrence - who died in a racist gang attack in London in the 1990s - while all three were in HMP Dartmoor will no longer face trial.

Darren May, aged 40, currently at HMP Guys Marsh and Dennis Hiam, aged 39, currently at HMP Exeter, both faced one count of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to serving prisoner David Norris at HMP Dartmoor following an incident on November 13, 2022.

It was alleged he was cut across his face and head, from above his left eye round past his ear. As a result of his injury he required more than 50 stitches.

Norris was sent to prison for life in 2012 for his part in the murder of Stephen Lawrence. Stephen was just 18 when a five-person mob killed him in a racist attack at a bus stop
