Sen. Rand Paul, R-Kentucky, criticized Federal Communications Commission chairman Brendan Carr Sept. 21 for his apparent threat to revoke broadcasting licenses following Jimmy Kimmel's controversial comments about the suspected shooter in Charlie Kirk's assassination.
In an interview for NBC's "Meet the Press with Kristen Welker," Paul called Carr's statement "absolutely inappropriate," adding that the chairman has "no business weighing on this." Paul spoke out after the network aired a clip of Carr saying the FCC would take action if ABC and other broadcasters do not make policy changes after Kimmel's late night monologue Sept. 15.
