Sunday had to be a bittersweet day for former Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, as he continued to make NFL history in a stunning loss.
Stafford, now with the Los Angeles Rams, threw two touchdowns in their Week 3 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles to pass former NFL quarterback Matt Ryan and move into ninth place on the league’s all-time passing touchdown list with 382.
His first touchdown was a 44-yard pass to his new receiver Davante Adams, giving the Rams a 10-7 lead. The second came in the third quarter, a 10-yard pass to Kyren Williams, pushing the lead to 26-7.
Unfortunately for Stafford and the Rams, there wasn’t much to celebrate, as the Eagles rallied to beat them 33-26 and remain 3-0. Stafford didn’t particularly play well in the loss, either.
