(UPDATE, 8:45 pm) The adult black bear has been safely trapped by game wardens from Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks.
The bear was lured into the trap with a rotisserie chicken dinner shortly after 8:00 p.m.
Wardens are now in the process of relocating the bear back to its natural habitat.
(1st REPORT) A bear has taken refuge in a tree in a Butte neighborhood, and wildlife officials have a plan to get it down: with rotisserie chicken. This black bear has been seen in the southeast Butte neighborhood for about a week.
