Now that fall's here Michigan residents may be ready to get into the Halloween spirit — carving pumpkins, watching spooky movies and planning costumes.

This year, Halloween lands on Friday, Oct. 31, giving kids a chance, perhaps, to eat candy all night without school in the morning, and for Halloween parties to extend into the weekend — the last time Halloween fell on a Friday was in 2014.
