INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts are awaiting word on the severity of Kenny Moore II’s calf injury, but will take a step to ease any absence.

The team will sign free agent cornerback Mike Hilton to the practice squad later Monday, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

Hilton, 31, will be reunited with defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo. They were together the last four seasons in Cincinnati.

The Colts still are waiting for medical evaluations on Moore, who exited Sunday’s 41-20 win at Tennessee in the fourth quarter with an injury to his left calf. He sparked the team’s first 3-0 start since 2009 by returning a Cam Ward interception 32 yards for a touchdown on the third play of the game.
