Local bilingual author Richard Aldama on Friday visited the new Bickel Dual Immersion Magnet School to speak to students and give away free books.
Aldama has written several children's books in both English and Spanish, including "Freddy Wants to be a Cowboy" and "Little Rosie's Favorite Ride."
He has been leading a fundraising effort to fill the new dual language immersion school with bilingual books, according to a press release from Twin Falls School District.
“Reading in both languages is a powerful way for our students to deepen their learning and strengthen their cultural connections,” Principal Jorge Pulleiro said. “We are so grateful to Mr. Aldama for not only sharing his story as an author but also investing in our students’ futures through his generous support."
