The WWE recently made another industry-changing announcement , revealing that WrestleMania will be held outside of the United States for the first time come April 2027. WWE Hall of Famer and commentator Booker T recently opened up about how moving the show to Saudi Arabia will affect the wrestling industry at large.

The biggest concern with this announcement are the events that are often planned in the host city for WrestleMania, catered toward independent wrestlers and fans of other companies. “That’s what a lot of guys are really ticked off about…WrestleCon is going to be preempted for two big shows,” Book and his Hall Of Fame podcast co-host, Brad Gilmore, said. Though they acknowledged people’s feelings, the 60-year-old wrestling legend understood why WWE made the move.
