Appointed State Senator Carl Jackson — who replaced embattled Baltimore County Executive Kathy Klausmeier in the Maryland Senate — is embarking on yet another spending spree. Quoted in a recent Baltimore Banner article, Jackson asked why Baltimore County doesn’t have a public pool.

Since entering office in 2019, Jackson backed costly projects: Recreation Activity Centers for Middle River and Rosedale, each topping $12 million, plus the $4.3 million Hazelwood Skate Park. He also supported S.B. 587 to create a Maryland Reparations Commission — shortly before the state’s credit rating was downgraded.
