Drivers were left frustrated late this afternoon (Monday, September 22) after a lorry became stuck under a railway bridge in a South Derbyshire village.
The incident happened around 4.45pm when the large curtain-sided lorry became wedged under the bridge in Repton Road, Willington, which carries a sign warning that it is only 13 feet high.
Derbyshire police put out a message to warn motorists that the incident had happened and to avoid the area. The police message said they were "working to reopen the road as soon as possible".
As drivers tried to find alternative routes, nearby roads through the village became jammed with traffic.
People took to social media and said that it wasn't the first vehicle that had tried to get through on Monday. One person said: "Can't park there, mate."
