WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator Gary Peters (MI), a Democrat, is calling out the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for "being weaponized" to "act as a roving press censor, targeting broadcasters based on their political commentary."

The pushback comes following ABC's recent decision to pull Jimmy Kimmel Live! from its late-night lineup indefinitely after Kimmel's comments about the man suspected of killing Charlie Kirk.

Sen. Peters joined 10 other senators in penning a letter to FCC Chairman Brendan Carr following comments about targeting ABC affiliates made by Carr on a podcast last week.
