MONROE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A man is behind bars after being caught by K9 Bolo, according to Monroe Police.

Officers went to a home on Sunnybrook Drive on Saturday, Sept. 20, to arrest 29-year-old Vitalii Gutorka. While at the house, officers say they found a stolen vehicle from Stanly County, which they believe Gutorka used to get to the home.

Gutorka reportedly slipped away just before officers got to Sunnybrook Drive, and a search for him was launched. Authorities tracked him to the area of Wolfpond Road and Hillside Drive.

Around 3:55 p.m., Gutorka was spotted in a field nearby, and he tried to run. However, Monroe Police K9 Bolo quickly caught up with him within seconds.
