The UAB Blazers have had a rough go of it over the last coupe of years under head coach Trent Dilfer, going 4-8 in 2023 before a 3-9 season in 2024 that left Dilfer on the hot seat going into 2025.

While Dilfer’s fate has yet to be decided, incidents like his team had on Saturday afternoon are not going to help his case. In the first quarter, Blazers safety Sirad Bryant was captured stomping on the foot of of Tennessee kicker Max Gilbert after an extra point attempt, something which did not go noticed by officials.

After the game, Dilfer said he saw a video of what occurred, and that Bryant would be disciplined.
