The Georgia Supreme Court recently upheld convictions in three Clayton County murder cases.
A glance at the convictions that were upheld on Sept. 16, 2025:
— According to information from the Sept. 16 ruling, India Royal and Cameron Woods were shot and killed inside their vehicle on Jan. 13, 2017.
On May 11, 2017, a Clayton County grand jury indicted Deanthony Ealey on several charges, including two counts of malice murder.
In March of 2019, Ealey was found guilty on all counts and was sentenced to life without the possibility for parole.
The case was docketed to the Georgia Supreme Court for the April 2025 term.
In the appeal, there were several contentions — including the evidence was insufficient to support the convictions.
