After starting the season 2-0 on the road, the San Francisco 49ers returned home for a Week 3 NFC West battle with the Arizona Cardinals at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday, and Kyle Shanahan’s team earned a 16-15 win and sole possession of first place in the division.

Without quarterback Brock Purdy, tight end George Kittle, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk and left guard Ben Bartch, the 49ers looked far from their best against the Cardinals. However, the defense played well and got lucky a few times while backup quarterback Mac Jones and the offense did just enough to earn the win.

As we comb through this Week 3 win, there were a few 49ers who shouldn’t be thrilled with their performance and will need to put in extra effort on the practice field this week before they play again.
