COLUMBIA COUNTY (WJBF) - Lakeside High School has issued a statement to parents, Monday, updating them on the status of the investigation into teacher Jerry Meitin.

Last week, the Columbia County School District announced that Meitin was reportedly no longer employed by the District, after allegedly making threating comments to a student.

Meitin is charged with Terroristic Threats and Acts after being accused of threatening to shoot students.

Today, Lakeside has issued a letter stating that a recommendation for termination has been made, but Meitin is currently on paid administrative leave, pending the results of an investigation into the matter by both local and district authorities.
