Cincinnati head coach Scott Satterfield reacts to Shawn Clark's death

UFC assistant coach Shawn Clark passed away on Sunday. He turned 50 last month.

The former Appalachian State University head coach was fired by the school last December and joined Scott Frost's staff as the offensive line coach for the 2025 season.

Clark's death came less than two weeks after UCF confirmed that Clark experienced a medical emergency on Sept. 9. He was hospitalized and was said to be in stable condition the following day.

Tributes poured in for Clark after the news broke on Monday morning. Cincinnati head coach Scott Satterfield sent his condolences through a post on social media. The two coaches spent time together in Boone before forging their respective paths elsewhere.
