SALT LAKE CITY — A dog died and two people are displaced after a house fire in Clearfield early Sunday morning.
Chief Mark Becraft with the North Davis Fire District said the fire started at a house on 350 West at around 1:15 a.m.
Becraft said the house was “not too far,” from the fire station and firefighters responded quickly.
Upon their arrival, firefighters searched the home and found two dogs. They attempted CPR on one of them, but it was unsuccessful, and the dog died. However, they got the other dog out of the house safely. No other injuries to firefighters or the occupants of the house were reported.
Becraft estimates the fire caused $150,000 to $200,000 worth of damage. A mother and daughter were displaced.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
