The annual Take Back the Night rally and march returns Thursday to Belleville’s Market Square as a show of support for survivors of sexual assault and a call to end sexual violence against all genders.
The gathering will be held between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. behind Belleville city hall, 169 Front St.

“It’s centred around fundamental rights for women to walk alone at night without fear of rape, harassment, or harm,” said Nicole Sinclair, a public educator and counsellor with the event’s lead agency, the Sexual Assault Centre for Quinte and District.
The centre provides one-on-one counselling for survivors of sexual assault; staff also offer support groups and Paths of Courage , a week-long residential healing program. People of all genders are welcome.
