AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn men's basketball head coach Bruce Pearl is expected to retire from his position, according to multiple reports Monday, ending a successful tenure that saw him become the school's all-time winningest coach.

The move is stoking speculation that a run for Alabama's soon-to-open U.S. Senate seat could follow, though Pearl has made no such announcement.

Steven Pearl, Bruce's son and current assistant coach, is expected to be named the Tigers' next head coach for the upcoming season, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel and Jeff Borzello.
