SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - A Sioux Falls woman has reportedly been scammed out of thousands of dollars after befriending an unknown man on TikTok.

According to police, the victim met a man on TikTok, who claimed he was overseas and needed help with his bank account.

The man also said the victim would be gifted an account in her name worth over $1 million, and all she needed to do was pay taxes in the meantime.

The victim told police she paid the man over $200,000 via transactions involving Apple gift cards and Bitcoin.

The exchanges went on for over five months.

No arrests or suspects have been named at this time.
