Jay Dearborn, a bobsledding Olympic athlete and former Canadian Football League player, paid a special visit to BGC South East on Friday Sept. 19, where he was officially announced as an athletic and education ambassador for the club, a similar partnership that was made with Vicki Keith as an inclusion advocate.

Dearborn grew up locally in Yarker, the youngest of five siblings. He went on to play professionally with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

During the pandemic, he was introduced to bobsledding and represented Canada at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics in the four-man event.

He holds a diploma in industrial electrical technology from Holland College and an engineering degree in sustainable and renewable energy from Carleton University.
