AUBURN, Ala. -- Bruce Pearl, the longtime Auburn head basketball coach who last season led the Tigers to a Final Four, is expected to retire according to CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein.

Pearl has been a fixture in the SEC for over 20 years, however, his first big splash as a Division I coach came when he led the Milwaukee Panthers to their best season in program history.

After turning Div. II Southern Indiana into a powerhouse in the '90's, Pearl took the head coaching job at UW-Milwaukee in 2001. While his first season in charge saw the Panthers finish 16-13, and 11-5 record in conference play showed loads of promise was ahead.

The next year, the Panthers finished 24-8, won the Horizon League tournament and appeared in the NCAA Div. 1 Tournament for the first time ever.
