A quarterback’s best friend is a reliable wide receiver, and Ricky Pearsall has proven to be just that for 49ers signal-callers during his short NFL career.

San Francisco’s second-year wideout finished Sunday’s 16-15 victory over the Arizona Cardinals with eight catches and 117 receiving yards – and if that wasn’t impressive enough, he did so while under incredibly tight coverage from defensive backs.

All eight of Pearsall’s catches came with a defender within three yards, according to NFL Next Gen Stats .

The 25-year-old also leads the NFL with 267 receiving yards during contested situations.

Still, Pearsall believes he’s nowhere near where he feels his potential is.
