MONTEZUMA, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Deputies with the Parke County Sheriff's Office arrested a 39-year-old man after he allegedly struck a woman and a 1-year-old child.

According to the news release, Deputies were called to a home in Montezuma around 3:20 a.m. for a 911 call about a domestic battery situation where a man had hit a baby in the head. According to the release, when deputies arrived on the scene, they located a woman who appeared to have been struck in the face several times and was holding a one-year-old baby that also had a mark from being hit.

The release continues stating that deputies then located Zachary Gilman in one of the bedrooms and took him into custody. During the investigation, deputies also located methamphetamine in the bedroom and garage.
