Another candidate has entered the race for Fresno City Council District 3 in the hopes of succeeding Councilman Miguel Arias.
Former West Park Elementary School District Trustee Fernando Alvarez launched a campaign for District 3 over the weekend.
The big picture: Alvarez is a small business owner who also worked as the Government Affairs Specialist at the Fresno Chamber of Commerce. • He was born and raised in southwest Fresno as the son of immigrants from Mexico. • Along with his work to strengthen the local economy, Alvarez has positioned himself as a public safety advocate. • Alvarez has the support of former Fresno County Supervisor Henry Perea and Fresno Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Scott Miller.
