OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Former Oklahoma lawmaker Richard Morrissette has died, as confirmed by his political colleagues on Facebook.

Morrissette, an outspoken Democrat, served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives from 2004 to 2016, representing House District 92, which includes parts of downtown and south Oklahoma City.

Born in New Hampshire, Morrissette moved to Oklahoma to attend law school at the University of Tulsa.

After retiring from the legislature, he ran for the Corporation Commission but withdrew from the race.

He also lost a close race for the Oklahoma City City Council the following year.
