CLEVELAND (WJW) -- A tragedy in Cleveland's Slavic Village neighborhood happened this past weekend.
A fast-moving house fire claimed the lives of two people -- a military veteran and a longtime teacher.
The investigation into a cause is just now getting underway, but investigators said the tragedy could have been prevented.
There were no smoke alarms inside the home and a major hoarding situation inside the property -- two major factors investigators said made it nearly impossible to quickly search and rescue.
While they continue to search for a cause, family, friends and neighbors are preparing their final goodbyes.
Residents along East 52nd Street in Cleveland's Slavic Village neighborhood are still talking about the tragedy
