A Mason City man pleaded guilty Monday in Cerro Gordo County District Court in a felony drug case.

Michael Allen Legler, 48, originally was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, a Class B felony, and failure to affix a drug tax stamp, a Class D felony, following a Mason City traffic stop in June.

He pleaded guilty to an enhanced charge of failure to affix a drug tax stamp as a habitual felony offender. The methamphetamine charge has been dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

Legler will be sentenced Nov. 17.

An Iowa State Patrol criminal complaint states Legler was found to be in possession of a plastic baggie containing a crystal-like substance June 8 at the intersection of 12th Street Northeast and North Virginia Avenue.
