A woman died Monday when she was struck by a Pittsburgh Regional Transit bus on Pittsburgh’s North Side, authorities said.

The incident happened about 12:15 p.m. near Rhine Street and Buente Street in the city’s Spring Hill neighborhood, according to PRT spokesman Adam Brandolph. The intersection is near the Three Rivers Manor housing complex.

The 50-year-old woman, a pedestrian, was unresponsive when medics arrived. She was taken to Allegheny General Hospital and pronounced dead about 20 minutes later.

No further details were immediately available, and PRT Police are investigating. Mr. Brandolph said the bus was towed from the scene.
