MOBILE, Ala. ( WALA ) - A Wilmer woman and a Gulfport man were arrested in Mobile over the weekend on numerous charges after their alleged involvement in a theft from Walmart and an attempt to elude capture in a stolen car, police say.
McKenzie Wilson, 23, and Jercody Nelson, 31, are being held at Mobile County Metro Jail, according to jail records.
The Mobile Police Department said it was about 6:25 p.m. Saturday when officers responded to the Walmart store 101 E. I-65 Service Road. They discovered Wilson concealed unpaid merchandise in her purse while Nelson attempted to exit the store with the unpaid merchandise a short time later, police said.
Investigators also said the vehicle they were using was reported stolen from Biloxi.
Wilson is charged with first-degree theft of property
