NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - As the New Orleans Pelicans prepare for media day, Joe Dumars offered a preview of what lies ahead, speaking about expectations, player development, and the responsibilities of stardom.
The longtime executive praised the work ethic of rookies Jeremiah Fears and Derik Queen, while stressing that their success will ultimately depend on them.
“You will determine how your rookie year goes. I won’t. The coach won’t. You will,” Dumars said of Fears. “You will have every opportunity to establish yourself… If you’re ready, we’ll roll with you.”
On Queen, Dumars noted the 18-year-old’s push to get into peak condition.
