EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - The seven-mile rivalry takes center stage this week as the Arp Tigers take on the Troup Tigers in our Red Zone Game of the Week.

In the last 20 years, these maroon tigers have faced each other 18 times, with Troup holding a 10-8 advantage. Troup has won six of the last 10, and the last three games they’ve played against each other, including a 31-20 win in Arp last year. Arp last picked up a win over Troup in 2021.

Arp is 4-and-0 with wins over Harleton, Garrison, Mineola and Sabine. Head Coach Wes Schminkey says the kids are getting better each week.

“They’ve been working hard, not only this season right here, but for a long time,” Schminkey said. “They deserve to get out there and go compete at a high level because of the work they put in.”
