COLUMBIA — The University of Missouri chapter of Turning Point, a Christian conservative organization, says it's experiencing an increase of members since the assassination of Charlie Kirk on Sept. 10.
Leaders say the interest increased days after MU students held a vigil in honor of Kirk . Kirk, a conservative political activist, co-founded Turning Point USA.
Chapter President Paige Schulte said the spike in numbers is measurable. Schulte said more students are joining the organization's GroupMe chat and are requesting to join by email.
"We just started it this semester, so before what happened with Charlie Kirk, we had about 30 members, and now we're about at 200," Schulte said.
