A 42-year-old Somerset County man was charged with attempted murder after stabbing another man during a fight that also involved children in New Brunswick on Friday, officials said.

Joshaun Williams, of the Somerset section of Franklin, was arrested after the fight, which took place around 3:45 p.m. near the corner of French and Louis Streets, New Brunswick police said.

The 39-year-old man Williams allegedly stabbed was hospitalized in stable condition.

Police said a 13-year-old and an 11-year-old were also involved, but their roles weren’t immediately clear. Neither was injured.

Williams was also charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated assault and weapons offenses.
