BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- Lake Michigan College announced it honored the founder of LMC's women's athletics program and her family on Saturday with a field dedication ceremony.

The field was named Liz and Lloyd Miller Family Field.

Liz Miller joined LMC in 1974 as the first head coach of women's volleyball, basketball, and softball.

After coaching all three sports for three seasons and establishing a winning tradition, she became LMC's first female athletic director in 1978 and focused her coaching efforts solely on softball for 17 seasons.
