A two-year-old boy has died in hospital after being found unresponsive at nursery .

The boy was found at Parbold Douglas Church of England Academy in Parbold, West Lancashire , at around 2:45pm on Friday.

Cops in Lancashire said he was taken to hospital where we later died, despite the best efforts of medical personnel.

Police said the death of the toddler is not being treated as suspicious..

Lancashire Police passed on their beszt wishes to the boy's family after the tragic death.

A spokesperson said: "We were called to Lancaster Lane, Parbold, at 2.43pm on 19th September following reports a child had become unresponsive at school.

"The child was taken to hospital where despite the best efforts of medical personnel, he tragically died. Our thoughts are with the boy's loved ones
