SEATTLE — The Washington State Attorney General is co-leading a comment letter that claims the Trump administration's intent to overturn the "Roadless Rule" would destroy recreation areas and harm national forests and local economies.

The letter cites the federal administration's June announcement that it intends to repeal the Roadless Area Conservation Rule, widely known as the Roadless Rule.

Washington AG Nick Brown, along with seven other states' attorneys general, argue that the rule has protected national forests from unnecessary road construction and commercial logging for nearly 25 years.
