The horrific killing of Calgarian Chad Kowalchuk continues to haunt his loved ones, court heard Monday.

Court of King’s Bench Justice Lisa Silver heard victim impact statements from three relative of Kowalchuk, his brother, nephew and sister-in-law.

“The nightmares still come,” sister-in-law Jacquie Kowalchuk told the sentencing hearings of one of the victim’s convicted killers.

“Vivid images of what Chad must have gone through, tied up, alone and terrified and that image haunts me,” she said.

“No one deserves to die the way he did and no family deserves to live with that image.”

Kowalchuk, 53, was hog tied and fatally beaten in his home on Feb. 13, 2022, in the southeast community of Douglasdale
