Just over eight years since it was originally announced by the Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB), a sod-turning ceremony to mark the next phase in the effort to consolidate Cornwall’s English-public high schools took place on Monday.

At the ceremony, the UCDSB also unveiled the architectural design for Cornwall’s new high school, which went to tender in October 2024. The contract was awarded to Edward J. Cuhaci and Associates Architects Inc., an Ottawa-based architectural firm with experience building high schools, and other educational institutions in the region.
