All flights going in or out of Denmark’s biggest airport have been stopped after as many as four ‘large’ drones were seen flying above.

At least 15 flights have been diverted since air traffic at Copenhagen Airport was suspended at 8.26pm local time, according to aviation tracker FlightRadar24.

The airport is largely empty but some passengers are standing at baggage check-in, Danish TV channel TV 2 reported.

A reporter at the scene said there is a ‘massive’ police presence on the tarmac.

Some diverted flights will land at Billund Airport instead.

The police said on X: ‘CPH Airport is currently closed for takeoff and landing, as two to three large drones have been seen flying in the area.

‘The time horizon is currently unknown.’
