ATLANTA, Ga. - More than 1,000 pounds of methamphetamine were seized in two separate drug busts in DeKalb County, according to the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Three people, immigrants from Mexico, were charged in the first drug bust. In the second operation, two others were also arrested. One of the suspects in the second bust, DEA officials said, was a “twice-deported” man.

“I’m aware of my legal status; I know I’m about to be expelled from this country, which I’ve loved and respected so much for more than two decades,” Mario Guevera says.

All of the suspects were charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. The suspects are in federal custody.
