Spirit Airlines is planning to furlough about 1,800 flight attendants, which is roughly a third of its cabin crew members. The budget airline has been struggling as it faces its second bankruptcy in less than a year.

According to Spirit's chief operating officer, around 800 Spirit flight attendants are already on a voluntary leave of absence. Additionally, Spirit has also furloughed hundreds of pilots as part of its cost-cutting measures.
