HOUSTON – Texans safety Jimmie Ward has been removed from the NFL’s commissioner exempt list one week after a felony domestic violence case was no-billed by a Montgomery County grand jury.

He remains under review under the NFL personal conduct policy. He was shifted to the Texans’ reserve-physically unable to perform list. Ward continues to rehab from offseason foot surgery, missing the first three games of the regular season. He is not considered ready to start practicing yet and isn’t eligible to do so yet.

“Ward has missed three games since being placed on the list on August 26 following an incident in June,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said in an email to KPRC 2. “In accordance with the Personal Conduct Policy, that review will remain ongoing and is not affected by this change in W
