GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) — Petersburg man was arrested after reportedly providing a false name during a welfare check on State Road 64.

Gibson County Sheriff's Office reported that deputies responded to a call on September 21, 2025, about a masked man lying in the road near State Road 65.

Deputy Bryan Small identified the man as 33-year-old Ethan Adams. Adams reportedly gave a false name to conceal his identity due to an active warrant.

Authorities confirmed Adams' identity and arrested him. He was booked at the Gibson County Detention Center on an active felony warrant and a new false informing charge.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
