The Walt Disney Company announced Jimmy Kimmel Live! will return to production Tuesday following discussions with the host after the company suspended the late-night talk show last week.
"Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country," Disney said in a statement. "It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive."
The company said it spent several days having "thoughtful conversations" with Kimmel. "After those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday," according to the Disney statement.
Disney's statement did not specify which comments prompted the action or provide details about the broader context.
