PIERRE, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Today, Gov. Larry Rhoden sent a letter to the Environmental Protection Agency Administrator, Lee Zeldin, to support the reconsideration of the 2009 Endangerment Finding and Greenhouse Gas Vehicle Standards.

This push comes in the aftermath President Joe Biden’s electric vehicle mandate, set in 2024.

Biden’s mandate set stricter requirements for emission standards in vehicles, with the goal of making electric cars more popular.

However, President Trump signed an executive order promising to eliminate Biden’s mandate.

If finalized, Zeldin’s proposal would repeal all greenhouse gas emissions for motor vehicles and engines.
