SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — The School Security Task Force met on Monday morning to discuss school safety in Utah.

This discussion follows the Charlie Kirk assassination at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10.

"There is no place for violence here in Utah, on our college campuses, or in this country," said Sen. Ann Milner.

Sen. Milner said that universities should be places where students, faculty, and staff can participate in respectful debating and open conversation. Disagreements should not turn into violence.

"So let us stand together, firm in our values, respectful in our discourse, and unwavering in our support of best practices and real solutions," said Sen. Milner.
