The Eagles ’ unbelievable second-half comeback against the Rams was fueled by an open passing attack — by Jalen Hurts letting it rip to A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and Co.

Hurts’ second-half showing, completing 17 of 24 passes for 209 yards and three touchdowns, was unlike anything we saw through the first two-and-a-half games this season. Up until that point, new offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo called a more conservative offense.

That led to rampant speculation among Eagles fans on social media and elsewhere that Patullo wasn’t actually calling the plays in the second half of Philadelphia’s 33-26 win. Some believed it was Hurts who took things over and ran the show.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni put that speculation to rest on Monday.
