HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A weekend soccer match between Hartford Athletic and the Pittsburgh Riverhounds is turning into a clash off the field.
The match was abandoned Saturday after one of the players from Pittsburgh allegedly made racial comments. Hartford Athletic said in a statement that players and staff did not feel comfortable proceeding with the match after hearing the alleged remarks.
The Pittsburgh Riverhounds deny the accusations, Hartford Athletic has requested a full investigation by the United Soccer League.
